Many disputes can end without going to court if the facts and the options are well prepared before the talks. B Law Firm represents you in negotiations to get the best possible offer, and acts as the go-between or as your representative in mediation, including mediation before a lawsuit is filed.
How we can help
- Representing you in talks with the other party to get the best possible offer without going to court.
- Acting as the go-between, or as your representative, in mediation.
- Explaining how mediation before filing differs from a lawsuit, so you can choose the route that suits your matter.
- Drafting the settlement agreement once you reach agreement, so that what each side must do is clear.
When to talk to a lawyer
- You are in a dispute over money, a contract, work delivered or damage, and the other side is still willing to talk.
- You want to keep a business or family relationship and do not want the matter to drag on.
- Your contract says the parties must first negotiate, or must use arbitration instead of the courts.
- You want to know whether mediation before a lawsuit suits your matter.
What to prepare before you talk to us
Have these ready for the lawyer when you talk. In the online form a short summary is enough; please do not send important documents or confidential details yet.
- A summary of the dispute and a timeline, with the documents and evidence you have.
- The amount or loss you are claiming, and how you worked it out.
- The outcome you want, and the lowest offer you could accept.
- The history of your contact with the other side, such as emails, chat messages and letters.
Worth knowing: an agreement reached in negotiation or mediation should be put in writing, saying who must do what and by when, so that it can be followed up if the other side does not keep to it.
What happens when you contact us
- Send us your matter through the online consultation form, LINE or email, telling us only what we need for a first assessment.
- A lawyer calls you back to ask about the facts and the documents, and tells you plainly about the prospects and the limits of your matter.
- We agree the scope of work and the fees before any work starts. Our fees match the actual scope of work, are transparent and carry no hidden charges.
- We act for you once we have confirmed in writing that we are taking on your matter. Sending the form alone does not make us your lawyers.
If your matter has a legal deadline, such as a court date, a limitation period or a filing deadline, please call the firm directly as soon as possible rather than waiting for a reply to a form or an email.
This page gives general information, not legal advice on any particular matter. Every matter turns on its own facts, so please talk to a lawyer before you decide.
